Agar is a gelling agent of plant origin that is also perfectly suitable for vegetarians and vegans. It is a natural soluble fibre from seaweed, which is especially important for healthy digestion. The biggest advantage is that it does not contain any sugar and has no flavour nor smell. This means that you can use agar for the preparation of both sweet and savoury dishes. For example, it is able to perfectly thicken any sauce or soup. Bot that's not all, it will also come in handy for the preparation of desserts, puddings and other delicacies.

Agar from seaweed.

            

Recommended use

Mix 7 g of powdered agar with 1 l of water. Bring to the boil and stir until dissolved. Allow to cool.
