The formula contains beta-carotene obtained from carrot extract. This important carotenoid and pigment is responsible for the orange to yellow-red colour of carrots and other crops. It is also referred to as provitamin A because it is converted to vitamin A in the body. This is one of the reasons why beta-carotene is also added to creams and other products designed for bronze tan. Moreover, the carotenoid group also includes lycopene from tomato extract.
